A Green New Deal for Europe: Towards green modernisation in the face of crisis

Findings of a Wuppertal Institute report commissioned by the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament and published by the Green European Foundation.

Europe and the world are in the midst of a series of crises. A Green New Deal is necessary to overcome these crises. This new report reveals that the EU is not making the most of the budget and financial instruments it has at its disposal. We have an opportunity to tackle the environmental challenges we are facing by promoting a shift to a sustainable economy, with lasting social and employment benefits. A Green New Deal can transform our economy and promote an industrial conversion and behavioural change.

Green Global Europe

Co-operating in the World to become the most sustainable economy

We now urgently need to replace the goal of global competition with one of global co-operation, and to investigate how best to adapt our economic models in order to seriously address climate change and environmental degradation, as well as the need for a more equitable balancing of poor and rich.
